Onboarding Step 1: Business Details
Complete the first step of the onboarding wizard by providing essential business details including contact information, location, and currency. This step also offers AI-powered description generation.
Preconditions
- Store has been created (store-1 completed)
- You are logged in as the store owner
- You are on the /onboarding page

Follow each step carefully
Navigate to /onboarding if not already there
You should be automatically redirected after store creation
Onboarding wizard is displayed with Step 1 (Business Details) active
Enter the contact email address
Email input field labeled "Contact Email"
Valid email format is accepted
This email will be used for customer inquiries
Enter the contact phone number
Phone input field labeled "Contact Phone"
Phone number is accepted
Select or enter your city
City dropdown or text input
City is selected/entered
Select your store currency
Currency dropdown (NGN, USD, GBP, etc.)
Currency is selected
This determines how prices are displayed to customers
(Optional) Enter WhatsApp number for customer support
WhatsApp phone input field
WhatsApp number is entered or field is left empty
Enables WhatsApp integration for customer communication
(Optional) Enter store description or use AI generation
Text area for description with "Generate with AI" button
Description is entered manually or generated by AI
Click "Generate with AI" to have AI create a description based on your store name and industry
Save and continue to next step
"Save & Continue" or "Next" button
Step is marked as complete; progress indicator updates
Expected Result
After saving: (1) Business details are saved to the store, (2) Step 1 is marked as complete in the progress indicator, (3) User advances to Step 2 (Categories), (4) All entered information persists if user returns to this step.
