Change Team Member Role
Verify that store owners can change the roles of existing team members to adjust their permissions as responsibilities change.
Preconditions
- You are the store owner
- At least one team member (other than owner) exists
Test Steps
Follow each step carefully
Navigate to Team settings
Settings > Team in the sidebar
Team member list is displayed
Find and click on the team member to modify
Click on their name or the edit/settings icon next to them
Member details or edit modal appears
Select a new role from the dropdown
Role dropdown showing available roles
New role is selected
Consider the security implications - promotions grant more access
Save the changes
"Save" or "Update" button
Success message appears
Expected Result
After role change: (1) Success message confirms role was updated, (2) Team list shows new role, (3) Member's permissions change immediately, (4) Member may be notified of role change, (5) Audit log records the change (if available).
