Create Digital Product
Verify that digital products (downloadable files) can be created with proper file upload, no inventory tracking, and no shipping requirements. Requires digital products subscription feature.
Preconditions
- You are logged in with product management permissions
- Store subscription includes digital products feature
- You have digital files ready (PDF, EPUB, ZIP - max 100MB)

Follow each step carefully
Navigate to Products and click "Add Product"
Products section in sidebar, then "Add Product" button
Product creation form appears
Set product kind to DIGITAL
Dropdown or toggle for product type/kind, select "Digital" or "DIGITAL"
Form adjusts to show digital product options; inventory/shipping sections may hide
If this option is not available, the store may need the digital products subscription feature
Fill in product name and description
Name and description fields
Product details are entered
Set the price for the digital product
Price input field
Price is entered
Upload digital files (PDF, EPUB, or ZIP - max 100MB each)
File upload zone specifically for digital downloads
Files upload successfully; file names and sizes are displayed
These are the files customers will download after purchase
Verify inventory tracking is not required/available
Inventory section should be hidden or disabled for digital products
No inventory quantity field is shown or required
Digital products have unlimited inventory by nature
Verify shipping options are not required/available
Shipping section should be hidden or show "No shipping required"
No shipping weight/dimensions fields are required
Save the digital product
"Save" or "Create Product" button
Success message appears
View product on storefront and verify digital indicator
Navigate to the product page on storefront
Product shows "Digital Download" or similar indicator; no shipping options at checkout
Expected Result
After creation: (1) Product is marked as DIGITAL type, (2) Digital files are attached and ready for download, (3) No inventory tracking is applied, (4) No shipping is required at checkout, (5) After purchase, customer receives download links, (6) Downloads can be accessed from order confirmation/history.
