Search Products in POS
Verify that the POS search bar allows quick product lookup by name and that category filters narrow down the product display.
Preconditions
- You are on the POS page
- Store has multiple products across different categories
Test Data
Search for a product name that exists in the catalogTest Steps
Follow each step carefully
Click on the search bar in the POS interface
Search input at the top of the product grid
Search bar is focused and ready for input
Type a partial product name to search
Type 2-3 characters of a known product name
Product grid filters to show matching products
Search should be responsive and filter as you type
Clear the search and verify all products return
Clear/X button in search bar or delete text
All products are displayed again
Click on a category filter
Category tabs/buttons above the product grid
Only products in that category are displayed
Verify product cards show essential information
Look at any product card in the grid
Each card shows product image, name, price, and stock status
Expected Result
Product search and filtering works correctly: (1) Search filters products in real-time, (2) Category filters show only relevant products, (3) Search and filters can be combined, (4) Product cards display price and stock clearly, (5) Out-of-stock products are visually distinguished or hidden.
