Create test codes: "TEST10PCT" (10% off), "TEST500" (500 fixed off), "MINSPEND" (10% off, min 5000), "ONEUSE" (20% off, 1 use limit), "EXPIRED" (any discount, past end date)

In store admin, navigate to Discounts/Coupons section and create a new percentage discount

Admin sidebar > Marketing > Discounts > "Create Discount"

Verify

Discount creation form loads

Create a 10% percentage discount code (e.g., "TEST10PCT") with no restrictions

Location

Enter code, select "Percentage" type, enter 10, leave other fields empty/default

Verify

Discount is saved and appears in discount list

Create a fixed amount discount code (e.g., "TEST500" for 500 off)

Location

Select "Fixed amount" type, enter 500

Verify

Fixed discount is created successfully

Create a discount with minimum order amount requirement

Location

Enter minimum_order_amount (e.g., 5000)

Verify

Discount with minimum spend requirement is created

Create a discount with usage limit (e.g., max 1 use)

On storefront, add products to cart totaling at least the minimum amount for testing

Discount code system works: (1) Percentage discounts calculate correct percentage of subtotal, (2) Fixed discounts reduce total by exact amount, (3) Minimum spend requirements are enforced with clear error messages, (4) Usage limits are tracked and enforced, (5) Expired codes are rejected, (6) Invalid codes show appropriate error, (7) Discount appears in order confirmation and admin order details.
