Sort Products
Verify that product sorting options (price, name, newest) work correctly on product listing pages.
Preconditions
- Store has multiple products with different prices and dates
- Sorting functionality is enabled
Test Steps
Follow each step carefully
Navigate to a product listing page with multiple products
All Products page or a category with several products
Products are displayed in a grid or list
Locate the sort dropdown or sort options
"Sort by" dropdown, usually near the top of the product list
Sort options are visible and accessible
Select "Price: Low to High" sort option
Click sort dropdown and select price ascending
Products reorder with cheapest products first
Change sort to "Price: High to Low"
Select price descending option
Products reorder with most expensive products first
Change sort to "Newest" or "Recently Added"
Select newest/recent sort option
Products show newest products first
Change sort to "Name: A-Z" if available
Select alphabetical sort option
Products are sorted alphabetically by name
Expected Result
Product sorting works: (1) Sort dropdown is easy to find, (2) Price sorting correctly orders products, (3) Newest sorting shows recently added first, (4) Name sorting alphabetizes products, (5) Sort selection persists while browsing, (6) Sorting works with filters applied.
