Select or Create Customer
Verify that POS allows searching for existing customers, creating walk-in customers, and creating new customers by email.
Preconditions
- You are on the POS page
- Cart has at least one item
- Store has existing customers in the database

Follow each step carefully
Locate the customer selection area in POS
"Select Customer" button or customer search field
Customer selection UI is accessible
Search for an existing customer by name or email
Customer search input field
Matching customers appear in dropdown or list
Select an existing customer
Click on the customer in search results
Customer is linked to the current order, name displayed
Clear the customer selection
"Clear" or "X" button next to selected customer
Customer is removed from the order
Click option to create a walk-in customer
"Walk-in" or "Guest" button
Order proceeds without specific customer details
Walk-in orders may have limited tracking/history
Create a new customer with email
"New Customer" or "Create Customer" option
Form appears for customer details
Fill in customer name and email, then save
Name and email input fields, save button
New customer is created and linked to order
Expected Result
Customer management works correctly: (1) Existing customers can be found by search, (2) Walk-in option allows anonymous sales, (3) New customers can be created on-the-fly, (4) Selected customer is linked to the order, (5) Customer info appears on receipt.
