Add Product to Cart
Verify that customers can add products to their shopping cart from the product detail page with correct quantity.
Preconditions
- Store has at least one published product with available stock
- Cart is empty or you know current cart state
Test Steps
Follow each step carefully
Navigate to a product detail page
Click on any available product from listings
Product detail page loads with Add to Cart button visible
Verify the quantity selector defaults to 1
Quantity input or +/- buttons near Add to Cart
Quantity is set to 1 by default
Click the "Add to Cart" button
Primary button usually labeled "Add to Cart"
Success feedback appears (toast notification, modal, or cart drawer opens)
Observe the cart icon in the header
Cart icon, usually in top right of header
Cart icon shows a badge with count of 1
Click the cart icon to view cart contents
Click cart icon in header
Cart shows the added product with correct price and quantity
Expected Result
Add to cart works: (1) Add to Cart button is visible and clickable, (2) Success feedback is shown after adding, (3) Cart icon updates with item count, (4) Cart contains correct product, (5) Price and quantity are accurate in cart.
