Verify that logged-in customers can complete checkout with pre-filled information and saved addresses.
Preconditions
- You have a registered customer account
- Cart has items ready for checkout
- Preferably have a saved address from a previous order
Test Steps
Follow each step carefully
Log in to your customer account
Login link in header, enter credentials
You are logged in; name shows in header
Add items to cart and proceed to checkout
Add products, go to cart, click Checkout
Checkout page loads
Verify contact information is pre-filled from your account
Email and phone fields
Contact fields are auto-populated with account info
Select a saved address or enter a new shipping address
Saved addresses shown as options
Address is selected or entered
Select shipping and payment methods
Shipping options and payment form
Both are selected; order total is correct
Complete the purchase
"Place Order" button
Order confirmation page appears with order number
Navigate to your order history
Account menu > "My Orders"
New order appears at top of your order list
Expected Result
Authenticated checkout works: (1) Contact info is pre-filled, (2) Saved addresses are available, (3) Checkout is faster than guest, (4) Order appears in account history immediately, (5) Can track order from account dashboard.
