User Registration (Email)
Verify that new users can successfully create an account using email registration. This is a critical flow as it is the entry point for all new customers and store owners into the platform.
Preconditions
- You have access to a valid email address that can receive emails
- The email is not already registered in the system
- You are not logged in (if logged in, log out first)
Test Data
Use a unique email like test+[timestamp]@yourdomain.com (e.g., [email protected]). Password must be at least 8 characters. First name and last name are optional fields.Test Steps
Follow each step carefully
Navigate to /register or click the registration link
Click "Sign Up" or "Create Account" button in the top navigation bar
Registration form is displayed with email, password, and password_confirm fields
Enter a valid email address in the correct format
Email field is usually the first input field
Email field accepts the input without showing validation errors
Use the format test+[unique]@domain.com to create unique test emails using the same inbox
Enter a password with at least 8 characters
Password field should show/hide toggle and may have a strength indicator
Password field accepts input; no validation error for length
Minimum requirement is 8 characters
Confirm the password by entering it again in the password_confirm field
Second password field labeled "Confirm Password"
No "passwords do not match" error appears
(Optional) Enter your first name and last name if fields are present
Name fields may be combined or separate depending on the form design
Fields accept alphabetic characters and common name characters
These fields are optional; form should submit without them
Click the "Create Account" or "Sign Up" button to submit
Primary action button, usually prominent at the bottom of the form
Button shows loading state while processing
Verify that account creation is successful
Look for success message or redirect to verification page
User sees confirmation that account was created
Check email inbox for verification email (if email verification is enabled)
Check spam/junk folder if not found in inbox within 2 minutes
Email received from the platform with verification link
Email verification may be required before accessing certain features
Expected Result
After successful registration: (1) Account is created in the system, (2) If email verification is enabled, user sees a "Check your email" or verification page, (3) A verification email is sent to the provided address within 1-2 minutes, (4) User may not access protected features until email is verified, (5) The email contains a clickable verification link.
